Tibor Krisztin is a Hungarian mathematician, working on dynamical systems and differential equations. Since 2000 he is a professor at the Bolyai Institute of the University of Szeged, where he was also the director from 2011 to 2014.

Tibor Krisztin studied mathematics at the University of Szeged, Hungary, where he obtained both his MSc degree and doctorate. His research area is the theory of infinite dimensional dynamical systems, in particular the theory of delay differential equations. In most of the regulatory mechanisms time delays play an important role, and their mathematical models are delay differential equations.

These appear in modeling of processes in biology, engineering, physics, economics, medicine, as well as social sciences. The wide and growing range of applications make the field interesting both from the applied and the theoretical point of view. One of his main results is the description of the fine geometrical structure of an infinite dimensional system generated by a delayed feedback system. He contributed significantly to the geometric theory of differential equations with state-dependent delays.

Tibor Krisztin was elected a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, received the R. E. Moore Prize for applications of interval analysis (2016), and was awarded Hungary's Széchenyi Prize (2018). He was also a visiting professor at several universities in the United States, Canada, France and Germany.
