He is interested in the theory and applications of differential equations of non-integer order. Science is both a way and a sense of life for him, as he puts it. It brings him the joy of understanding the way the great minds of the past used to think, and the chance of contributing at least a little to the overall wealth of the human knowledge, as well as friendships with colleagues from various countries and cultures. He is pleased that he can share his knowledge with colleagues and students around the world and that other researchers need and use the results of his work already now.
