Professor Maria Grazia Valsecchi is a Full Professor in Biostatistics, Director of a Unit dedicated to Biomedical Research and has served as Dean of the School of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milano-Bicocca until 2021. Professor Valsecchi‘s primary areas of study are the methodology for designing studies and clinical trials dedicated to clinical and translational research and the statistical analysis of data from research studies in various fields. Her contributions are interwoven with research in cancer and haematology, including childhood lymphoblastic leukaemia, as well as in other areas of medicine, with recent focus on the role of novel therapies and novel biomarkers. She is a co-author of a book on statistical methods and author of over 450 research papers in international journals. Professor Valsecchi regularly takes part in international projects, conferences and, in 2023, was the program chair of the International Society for Clinical Biostatistics Annual Conference.
